Little Fish
Sargant Fury were a German hard rock band, and on Little Fish they deliver exactly what the genre promised: energetic, guitar-driven rock with blues roots and catchy hooks. The songs are straightforward, the playing is solid, and there's a genuine sense of fun running through the album. You won't hear anything groundbreaking here, but you also won't hear anything phoned in—these are craftspeople who know how to write a song and deliver it with commitment. The title track is a natural rock anthem, and cuts like "New Direction" show they could write with more dynamics when they wanted to. A solid snapshot of German hard rock in the early 1990s.
