Haywood carved out a distinctive space in '70s soul music through his combination of sexual swagger and genuine emotional warmth—never quite as aggressive as pure funk, never as polished as mainstream soul, but landing somewhere in between where the groove feels both playful and sincere. Tracks like "I Wanta Do Something Freaky To You" and "Come And Get Yourself Some" reveal his gift for writing hooks that stick without feeling cheap, while deeper cuts demonstrate his range across love songs and mid-tempo soul workouts. This collection reaffirms why Haywood remains an overlooked figure in American soul music, a musician whose influence echoes through decades of hip-hop, RandB, and contemporary funk without receiving quite the recognition his catalog deserves.

<details style="margin:0 0 8px;">
Item Details+

Genre

Funk / Soul

Style

Soul

Media

Very Good Plus (VG+)

Sleeve

Near Mint (NM or M-)

Description

Carefully packed and shipped with love from Vienna.
