Je T'Aime...
Genesis P-Orridge is a legendary experimental musician best known for founding Throbbing Gristle, one of the most influential industrial groups ever. This 1985 12" on the Belgian experimental label Sub Rosa finds P-Orridge in contemplative form, moving away from TG's harsh industrial sound toward something more ethereal and electronic. Recorded with The Angels Of Light, the project explores experimental electro with an almost meditative quality. The production is sparse and deliberate, using electronic textures and processing to create an unsettling but oddly beautiful atmosphere. There's an avant-garde sensibility here that contrasts with the stark aggression of Throbbing Gristle, instead favoring nuance and texture. A limited edition release that captures an important moment of artistic evolution.
