By 1991, Einstürzende Neubauten had already spent nearly a decade dismantling conventional rock with scrap metal, contact microphones, and relentless conceptual rigor. *Strategies Against Architecture II* finds them in mid-evolution, a collection that mixes studio work with live captures to map their shifting sonic landscape. The album title itself—a continuation of their earlier manifesto—suggests architecture as a target, something to interrogate and dismantle rather than inhabit. These tracks move between percussive assault and eerie quietude, between the clangorous and the meditative, always maintaining that distinctly unsettling Berlin sensibility. There's no comfortable groove here, only the sound of systems being challenged from within. For anyone following the band's trajectory or interested in how industrial music could remain genuinely strange and uncompromising well into the nineties, this document captures Neubauten at a crucial moment.
