Vol. 2 - I Got Rhythm - German Propaganda Swing, 1941 - 1944

After years away, New Zealand's The Veils returned in 2025 with Asphodels, a brooding art rock statement on V2. Finn Andrews and company built their reputation on moody post-punk textures and angular arrangements, never content to settle into conventional indie rock shapes. Asphodels feels like a band rediscovering themselves with added maturity and no need to prove anything. The production is detailed, the songwriting uncompromising, and Andrews' voice remains one of indie rock's most distinctive instruments—weathered, controlled, deeply expressive. For fans of atmospheric but rhythmically sharp indie rock with genuine artistic ambition.
