Cassiano's *Cedo Ou Tarde* captures the Brazilian singer at a reflective crossroads, blending the sophisticated melodicism of MPB with contemporary soul and funk textures that feel both grounded and modern. Released in 1999 on Columbia, the record finds him moving between intimate ballads like "Eu Amo Você" and "A Lua E Eu" with the kind of lyrical precision that defines serious Brazilian songwriting, while tracks like "Rio Best-Seller" and the title cut inject groovy, soulful rhythms that speak to his willingness to stretch beyond tradition. There's a warmth throughout—the production sits in that comfortable middle ground where acoustic instrumentation and subtle electronic touches coexist without fuss. Whether you're drawn to Cassiano's velvety voice or simply appreciate that particular Brazilian moment when artists were confidently marrying classic song forms with contemporary soul, this album offers something genuine and worth sitting with.
