Les Abencerages
Cherubini was an Italian composer active in the late 18th and 19th centuries, respected for his sacred music and dramatic operas that influenced Beethoven himself. Les Abencerages, a grand opera originally composed in 1813, tells of Spanish-Moorish romance and political intrigue during the Reconquista.
