This 2012 Polydor reissue of the 1967 landmark debut remains as radical as ever. Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison, John Cale, and Maureen Tucker, alongside German vocalist Nico, created something that sounded like nothing else: gritty rock and roll meeting avant-garde experimentation.
