Cristalli Fragili / Ehi, Tu Ritorna

Ljupka was part of that special moment in mid-sixties Italian rock when local artists were absorbing the British beat invasion and making it their own. This 1965 single mixes pop rock energy with sophisticated chanson touches, a blend that was distinctly Italian. Her voice has real character—playful and knowing without being precious. These were records meant for dancing and for listening, and the production has a clarity that's genuinely appealing. Original pressings have become increasingly hard to track down, making this a proper find for collectors of vintage European pop.
